Geography, History and Humanities at St Marks Primary Academy, is dedicated to equipping our pupils with extensive, contextual understanding and knowledge of the developing world in which they live.
Geography focuses on the location of globally significant places; terrestrial and marine; encompassing essential physical and human characteristics that explore a geographical context for understanding the actions of processes. Pupils are given the opportunity to understand the interdependency of spatial variation and change over time, through the key physical, human and geographical features of the world. Our Geography curriculum allows the pupils to collect, analyse and communicate with a range of data gathered through experiences of both classwork and fieldwork that deepen their understanding of geographical processes. Interpreting a variety of sources of geographical information that includes maps, globes, photographs and diagrams, encourages communication of geographical information in a range of ways, consisting of numerical and quantitative skills and writing at length.
